Hi, I'm Kate. I'm an author, editor, longtime content professional, and the person behind Arc Books.I've spent much of my career helping people turn ideas into something others read, understand, and connect with.
I started Arc Books because I enjoy the part of publishing that can be hardest to do alone: stepping back, seeing what's really happening with a project, and figuring out what will move it forward.

Answers solve one problem. Understanding helps you solve the next.That's the philosophy behind Arc Books. Whether we're working through a story problem, evaluating a manuscript, or navigating self-publishing, I want you to leave with more than an answer. I want you to understand why—and feel better equipped to tackle the next challenge yourself.

I'm not here to rewrite your story in my voice or make you dependent on a consultant every time you hit a problem. I'm here to help you understand what's working, identify what isn't, and make informed decisions about where your book goes next. I've spent almost two decades working professionally with words, audiences, and publishing. I've helped authors develop, strengthen, and position books across fiction and nonfiction, while publishing a few of my own along the way.

And you've probably learned a lot along the way.But there comes a point when more information isn't necessarily what you need.Arc Books offers an introductory 60-minute book consultation for $30. If you decide to continue working with Arc Books, your consultation fee can be applied as a $30 credit toward your next service.

What Exactly is a Book Consult?

You bring your book questions. I help you figure out what to do next.For 60 minutes, we'll talk through whatever is holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I'm here to help you through any stage of your book.A consultation does not include manuscript reading, beta reading, or editing. Those are separate services we can discuss if you'd like.

Before We Chat

When you book, you'll tell me about your project, where you are in the process, and what you need help with.I'll review everything before we meet and come prepared. We won't waste your hour getting me up to speed.

During Our Meeting

For 60 minutes, your book is the focus. We'll work through your questions, identify what's working and what isn't, and figure out practical ways forward.And I won't just tell you what I recommend. I'll explain why.I practice the philosophy of educating to solve tomorrow's challenges. I won't just hand you one-off solutions. No, I'm going to help you understand the why, so you're better equipped to solve the next problem yourself.

After Your Book Consultation

Within 48 hours, you'll receive a personalized written summary and roadmap covering what we discussed, what is or isn't working, and what steps you can immediately take on your own to get your story in print.
